Frequently Asked Questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Processing runs entirely in your browser.
What is EXIF data?
Hidden details stored in photos: camera, settings, time and sometimes GPS location.
Which formats work?
JPEG, PNG and WebP. HEIC/HEIF is detected but not supported.
Is the original changed?
No. You download a separate cleaned copy.
Does it guarantee anonymity?
No. See the disclaimer.
Why is the cleaned file a different size?
The image is re-encoded, which changes compression.
How do I remove GPS location from a photo?
Add the photo to Photo To Info, check the GPS fields highlighted in red, then choose Clean image and download the cleaned copy. The tool re-scans the result so you can confirm the location tags are gone.
Does removing EXIF data reduce image quality?
Pixels are re-encoded. JPEG and WebP output uses high quality (95), so differences are very small, but the file is not byte-identical and its size can change.
Is Photo To Info free?
Yes. You can audit and clean images without creating an account or paying.
Can I clean many photos at once?
Yes. Add several images, use Clean all, and download every successfully cleaned file in one ZIP archive. A file that fails does not stop the others.
Does it work offline?
After the page and its libraries have loaded, the processing itself needs no network connection. The tool never sends your images anywhere.
How can I check that a cleaned image is really clean?
Open the cleaned copy in a separate EXIF viewer or in your operating system file properties. Photo To Info also shows its own re-scan result next to the original audit.
